Our story

Support beyond spreadsheets

Cents & Solutions grew out of our founder’s real-world and deeply personal experience helping her sister navigate the financial side of running a business in the US. This showed her firsthand a huge gap in financial literacy and confidence among business owners and particularly women in business.

Our mission is to address this gap. We’re proud to provide accessible, tailored financial guidance for those who might not typically feel confident with finance, whether businesses or single women who are looking to be empowered financially.

Hi, I’m Tam

Founder & Financial Coach at Cents & Solutions

I started Cents & Solutions after helping my sister run her business overseas. I saw firsthand how overwhelming finance can feel – especially for women and business owners. As a CPA with experience across complex industries like construction, defence, publishing and retail and hospitality, I realised that I didn’t just want to provide financial advice – I also wanted to provide real education. I’m here to make money feel simple, empowering and easy to understand.

Outside the office, I’m just like you. A mum to one, who loves jazz, fashion and ‘deep and meaningfuls’. I find real joy in supporting others, whether the problem is numbers or a life transition. When I’m not crunching numbers, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my family, exploring new places (I love to travel) or enjoying a good coffee chat.

I am actively engaged in the professional community through my membership with CPA Australia and BNI Corporate Brisbane, and regular participation in industry events including CPA, Brisbane City Council workshops and Women in Finance.
